The most dangerous thing that you can do to your healing progress is not forgive yourself for what happened.
Unforgiveness is the poison to your peace. It's the stumbling block to your emotional, mental, and spiritual development. Unforgiveness is the secret sin that most live with and die not knowing that they have never lived their best life because they have always felt held back.

You must first learn to forgive yourself before you can forgive someone else.
Forgiveness takes practice, and it takes maturity. It is critical that you learn how to empower yourself by learning that it's good to forgive yourself as the victim of the situation. Forgiveness is key to removing the small gods you've continued to worship. Forgiveness also exposes the triggers you've created.
Forgiving yourself creates the space you need to develop the new you. To get rid of all things that hindered you from being the very best version of yourself. Forgiveness helps the immature areas of your life get the opportunity to mature. Forgiveness helps you identify the strongholds that have been built secretly in the mind because you took responsibility for the hurt you didn't cause or create.

So, learn to forgive yourself so you can increase your emotional intelligence to know that you no longer have to live your life carrying the weight of what happened to you.
Learn to set yourself free by taking the necessary steps to become a stronger you, an empowered you, a more secure you, and a more in-control you, by standing boldly in front of a mirror and saying out loud with confidence and on purpose that: "I forgive you for the hurt I held on too, for the time I wasted, for the failure that I created, for the repeat offenses I produced and for the things I didn't know I caused. I Forgive You and I Love You," and practice saying it until you believe it!
